Dear LU Community-
We hope that you enjoy this live showing of the film Once Was Water and our first attempt at a synchronous event for the Lawrence community. The film will begin at 6:00pm central time on April 22, with the screening room opening and the live chat starting at 5:30pm. Come back to this page on Wednesday the 22 so we can all watch the film together and engage in a live chat discussion. Though we would love for everyone to be able to watch together we understand that differing time zones may be problematic for some. For this reason, the film will be available in the screening room for 24 hours after the first showing.
April 22, 2020, is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. A day which marks the start of the modern environmental movement. It is just as important now as it was 50 years ago to seek sustainable solutions to environmental problems. We selected this film with hopes that it will shine light on those that continue to fight for the well-being of their communities and the planet.
